Arenacross Tour German round postponed – also changes venue
The team behind the Arenacross Tour has announced a postponement of the German round, which was set to take place on March 10 in Dusseldorf.
The round will now be held in November and switch from the ESPRIT Arena to the smaller venue of the ISS Dome, which is also in Dusseldorf.
In a press release, the series organiser said a smaller venue is a better format for AX but the ISS Dome wasn’t available at the planning point of the AX World Tour.
The AX International Tour will still take place as a two-leg series starting, as already planned, at the Wembley Arena, London on February 17 and then over to the Ethias Arena in Belgium on March 3. But the German leg will be a standalone event.
For all the people that have already booked tickets for the ESPRIT Arena, they will be contacted by the booking agent (Eventim Sports) and offered a full refund, an exchange to the event in Belgium (March 3) or to keep their tickets for the ISS Dome event November.
“At this stage we feel it’s geared more towards an arena, rather than stadium venue and we want to consolidate and grow a format that we know works, rather than trying to run before we can walk,” Arenacross Tour owner Matt Bates said in the press release.
“We are definitely committed to expanding the Tour and taking it into Europe but, the time and place has to be 100 per cent right, especially with such an important market as Germany.”
